POPPA FOSTER

Born in New Orleans, Christopher “Poppa” Foster began life in this world with deep roots in music. An entertainer from early childhood, he began playing piano at four years old and writing songs at seven. Poppa is now recognized as a lyrical stalwart and soulful composer in his community, sometimes referenced as the Allen Toussaint of Tulsa.

Poppa Foster has been specially presented in publications such as NPR, the Oklahoma Gazette and the Tulsa Voice. He’s played the Cain’s Ballroom stage many times and has performed as the featured songwriter in various showcases, even being covered by other local artists on their own albums. Find yourself in a Tulsa bar and chances are you will catch a band performing one of Poppa's songs.
